Mononoid – Parallel To The Radius

Mononoid deliver a decidely modern version of trance music on their latest release for Traum. Rather than conjuring up images of tie-dye wearing hippies gyrating on a beach in Goa, Parallel offers a modern, futuristic vision. Whether it's the hissing percussion and doubled-up claps of the Logiztik Sounds take of the title track or the rolling, pulsing tunnel of sound that Mononoid create on the acid-soaked "Grom Morg", this release is full of surprises. That's not to suggest that Parallel is devoid of melody - just check the glorious hooks on "Two Terms" if you're in doubt - but the rasping percussion and slinky relentlessness audible throughout make this a thoroughly modern interpretation of trance.
